Seat bases, foam and mounting hardware for cafe racer and vintage motorcycle builds. The seat is the last major piece of a cafe racer conversion and the one that decides whether the bike reads as finished. Once the subframe is looped and the tail is shortened, you need a base that follows the new line and foam that keeps the bike rideable.

Building the seat yourself is well within reach on a home build. A thermoplastic base softens with heat, bends to the shape of your tail section, then holds that shape when it cools, so you can fit it to your own frame without fabricating a mould or sourcing a pan built for someone else's bike.

What is available:

  • Thermoplastic seat base, 290mm x 700mm, shaped with heat
  • High density seat foam in 25mm, 50mm and 100mm thicknesses
  • Motorcycle seat clips, pack of 4

Build order: fit and finish the subframe first, then shape the base to the frame, then cut foam, then trim and upholster. Working in that order stops you rebuilding the seat twice.
