Starter solenoids for cafe racer and vintage motorcycle builds. The solenoid is the heavy duty relay that carries full battery current through to the starter motor, switched by the small current coming from your start button. When one fails you get the classic symptom: a single loud click and no crank.

On a rewired bike the original solenoid is often the weakest link left in the system. Decades of corrosion on the main terminals, combined with the extra load of a rebuilt starter or a newer battery, is usually enough to drop voltage below what the starter needs to turn the engine over.

What is available:

  • 200 amp starter solenoid, supplied with a wiring diagram

Note: the supplied wiring diagram covers the standard battery, starter and ignition switch connections. If you are running a Prime Core control hub, wire the solenoid according to the colour diagram that ships with the hub.
